Birdies For Breast Cancer
In the increasingly popular sport of golf, Cristie Kerr has emerged as one of the game's premier female athletes. After an extraordinary amateur career Cristie joined the LPGA Tour, where she quickly ascended to the upper echelon of the sport.
Cristie's meteoric rise through the golfing ranks is matched only by her remarkable accomplishments away from the golf course. After years of struggling with her weight, Cristie rose to the challenge and was able to shed a remarkable 58 pounds by adhering to a proper diet and rigorous fitness program. It is this steadfast determination and perseverance that has made her story so compelling and inspiring.
This year, Cristie will apply her determination toward tackling breast cancer, which struck her mother last year, through a program called Birdies for Breast Cancer. Cristie will raise money for breast cancer research from individuals and corporations for every birdie she records on the tour. Given her past history, the Birdies for Breast Cancer program should be another chapter in the book of Cristie's remarkable successes.
